I’m currently creating a children’s book based on the true story of our cat, Hunter.
In 2021, we saw a stray cat in our cul-de-sac. He needed help, but was scared of us. In fact, the only one he came close to was our dog, Remy. The two of them sparked an unlikely friendship.
We built a cat door into our heated garage and gave him a bed, food, and water. After a few months of getting to know him from a distance, he started letting us pet him. He even wanted to come into our house when he smelled bacon 🥓 — still one of his favorite foods today.
Hunter’s journey from feral cat to adored member of our family has been one of the best parts of my entire life. I can’t believe our luck that he’s such a well-behaved indoor-outdoor cat (although he has brought a live chipmunk into our house…)
I’m excited to capture his story in a series of children’s books with themes of trust, bravery, resilience, embracing change, and most of all—love.
